– Goldin Auctions will use the funding to invest in technology, operations and audience development to further build upon the trust the company has established with buyers and sellers on its platform.

– Kalshi, the first federally regulated exchange dedicated to trading on event outcomes, announced today that it has raised $30m in Series A funding.
– The round was led by Sequoia Capital with participation from Charles Schwab, Henry Kravis, and SV Angel.
– Kalshi will use the new funding to bring its exchange to market and enable the trading of a unique asset class: event contracts.
– Event contracts are structured as questions about future events.
– Investors buy either “Yes” or “No” contracts based on whether they think the event will happen or not, allowing them to hedge everyday risks and capitalize on their opinions.

Wholesale marketplace Abound raises $22.9M

– Abound, an online marketplace that helps independent retailers stock their shelves with new products from up-and-coming brands, is announcing that it has raised $22.9 million in its first institutional round of funding.
– The startup actually began as a community connecting manufacturer’s representatives and retailers, but Shope said the team “kept seeing the limits of that model,” while some retailers were asking to buy from the brands directly. So the team decided to support that experience, starting out by recruiting 50 brands with an offer of free consulting — as long as they were willing to be one of the brands on the marketplace when it launched in October 2019.

– Replit, a browser-based integrated development environment (IDE) built for cross-platform collaborative coding, has raised $20 million in a series A round of funding led by A.Capital Ventures.
– Replit, which counts users from big-name companies such as Google, Facebook, and Stripe, closed the funding round in early 2020 but for various business and pandemic-related reasons delayed the announcement until today.
– Replit said it has invested the capital in R&D, hiring, and platform feature launches, noting that its user base has surged by 122% to more than 6 million users while its employee base has doubled.
